We use only the best quality, natural ingredients, plant oils, butters and essential oils in our products that are sustainable and will be beneficial to your skin and considerate to our planet.
Because what your products do not contain is as important as what they do, Aermeda Soaps do not contain any unnecessary or harmful ingredients. We have never used Palm oils and there is no Sodium Laurel Sulphate or artificial fragrances in any of our products.
Clays & Exfoliants

Activated Charcoal has super absorbency, plus antibacterial properties, making it an ideal ingredient for oily and acne prone skin types. As well as absorbing impurities, toxins, and dead cells, Activated Charcoal decongests and tightens pores leaving smooth toned skin. Activated Charcoal is also used to naturally colour soap.

Alkanet Root Powder is a natural botanical powder. A member of the borage family it has blue flowers and a red root. The root is antibacterial, antipruritic and astringent.
We infuse our oils with alkanes and sieve before use.

Annatto Seed Oil is derived from the seed of the Achiote Tree (Bixa orellana), which is native to tropical regions from Mexico to Brazil. Annatto seed oil is an antioxidant and used as a natural colouring in our citrus scrub soap.

Brazilian Cocoa Clay removes impurities without drying. With it’s high in mineral content, it can help accelerate cell restructuring, as well as stimulate oxygenation and the firming of tissues to help prevent the signs of aging.

Chlorella is a nutrient dense micro-algae packed with skin loving goodness. Said to improve the production of collagen and calm inflammation. A beautiful bright green which we add to French Green clay to naturally produce the sage green colour of our Triple Butter soap.

Cocoa powder is full of antioxidants and promotes healthy skin development by softening and detoxifying the skin. Combined with Activated charcoal to achieve a dark natural black/brown colour of our Sea Kelp, Pumice and Activated Charcoal exfoliating soap.

Finely ground coffee beans are added to our soap bar for dual purpose. It adds a subtle colour and can rid the skin of dry, dead skin cells and restore it to a more radiant and smooth appearance. Coffee, by stimulating blood flow, improves circulation and consequently the appearance of the skin.

Ground oatmeal is soothing and anti-inflammatory in nature, it helps calm dry, inflamed and sensitive skin and helps with the painful itching associated with eczema and minor skin irritations.

French Green Clay has a fine texture which is a natural gentle exfoliant. It is beneficial in removing impurities and tightening the pores, toning the skin, exfoliating dead skin cells and reducing inflammation. French green clay is a natural colourant in our soap, and comes from decomposed plant matter and iron oxides.

Apricot Shell Powder is a coarse powder made from the finely ground outer shells from the seeds of the Apricot. Apricot shells are a gentle yet effective way to smooth and refresh dry skin.

Indigo extract powder from Indigofera Tinctoria, also known as true indigo is a legume, part of the bean family of plant. Results in a beautiful soulful colour blue and is used to naturally colour our soothing Indigo and Oatmeal soap.

Kaolin clay is the mildest of all clays and is suitable for sensitive skin types. It helps to soothe easily irritable skin and skin prone to breakouts, rashes and redness while helping to draw out impurities. Kaolin clay gives a silkiness and creaminess to soap.

New Zealand Glacial Clay is composed from the ancient collision of volcanic ash and glacial ice. The fine particle size of New Zealand glacial clay ensures it deeply penetrates the pores of your skin. This wonderful ingredient detoxifies toxins, heavy metals, chemicals and other impurities from the skin and body.

Citrus powders are gently exfoliating agents and adds colour and texture to finished soap.
Organic Lemon peel (Citrus Limon) powder and Organic Orange peel (Citrus Sinensis) powder contains vitamin C and a host of antioxidants. The natural citric acids act to detoxify the skin.

Poppy Seeds are oilseeds from the poppy. As well as providing gentle natural exfoliation, they help moisturise the skin.

Pumice is a light, porous glassy lava rock – the rock is ground and used in our soap as a natural medium-coarse exfoliant to remove impurities and dead skin cells.

Kelp Granules contains calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, Vitamin K, A1, B6, B12 and more!
These vitamins and minerals nourish the skin. Kelp in our soap helps unclog pores and gently removes dead cells on the skin, revealing new skin beneath. We have combined Kelp with Activated Charcoal and a fine pumice to make a great exfoliating soap for hands and body.

Argan Oil, often referred to as “liquid gold”, is highly concentrated with antioxidants and natural vitamins that target the appearance of signs of aging.
Argan oil is a lightweight, composed of fatty acids, vitamin E and linoleic acids. These elements combine to prevent moisture loss and soften the outermost skin layer.

INCI Name: Cera Flava
A mix of plant wax, pollen and secretion from a gland of the bee. Our beeswax is sourced locally from central otago – it is untreated and cleaned by us.
Beeswax gives better protection than oils and fats because of the wax content. It is absorbed slowly by the skin and doesn't block pores. Soothes irritated skin.

Organic Brassica Oleraceae
Packed full of antioxidants and omegas, and it's a skin super food thanks to its ability to regenerate, nourish and protect. Broccoli seed oil helps maintain happy, hydrated skin, and the fatty acids create a barrier that traps moisture while also deeply penetrating to provide lasting nourishment.
Referred to as a natural alternative to silicones in skin and hair care, broccoli seed oil is ideal for reviving and replenishing your complexion. This natural skincare ingredient is lightweight and does not clog pores, meaning it is well suited for even oily and acne-prone skin.

Organic Japanese Camellia Oleifera
The "beauty secret" of the geishas of Japan, camellia has been recognised for centuries in Eastern Asia for its highly regenerative and restorative effects on the skin.
Camellia oil is known for its excellent moisture-retaining ability, which makes it an effective moisturising and replenishing oil. It is quickly absorbed and permeates deep into lower layers of skin, promoting cell growth and assisting with support and flexibility.

Castor Oil is absorbed easily into skin and works as an excellent moisturiser to keep the skin hydrated. It leaves the skin toned, protected and smooth. Contributes to a stable and fluffy soap lather.

Cocoa butter (Theobroma Cacao) is a rich source of moisture and is packed with vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids that help to boost skin health. Known for its ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve elasticity, it is particularly good for dry skin, keeping moisture in your skin where it belongs. Along with its skin-loving properties, cocoa butter also contributes to a “firmness” in artisan cold-process soap with a rich, fluffy, stable lather.

Coconut oil (Cocos Nucifera) is a light oil rich in natural antioxidants, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Soothing and particularly beneficial for dry, itchy and sensitive skin, coconut oil contributes to making a firm bar of soap with a fluffy lather.

Organic Simmondsia Chinensis
Jojoba is actually a liquid wax made up of esters of saturated and mono-unsaturated, fatty acid and fatty alcohols.
The composition is similar to sebum produced by our own skin which is perhaps why it is so nourishing, protective and well-tolerated. Easily absorbed by the skin, it softens and protects the skin and helps it hold its moisture by forming a protective film. Can be used on all skin types and is good for acne and eczema. It is also a good hair oil.
Included in our shaving soaps, beard balm and premium beard oil. Jojoba oil can reduce shaving-induced skin damage and inflammation. It’s addition helps protect the skin’s natural barrier lipid layer, to combat the irritation, reddening and mechanical peeling associated with razor burn.

Kokum butter has powerful moisturizing properties.
A highly prized hard, dense, emollient vegetable butter of Indian origin derived from the fruit of the Garcinia tree. Kokum butter possesses many characteristics similar to cocoa butter (high vitamin E content, promotes skin regeneration and elasticity, imparts a luxuriant creaminess to our shaving soap lather), but is non-comedogenic (does not clog pores).

Mango Seed Butter is an exotic sweet plant based butter. With softening and soothing properties, it cleanses the skin’s surface of impurities and unblocks pores. Loaded with vitamins like A and E, essential fatty acids, and natural antioxidants, make Mango Butter an effective soothing agent for skin afflicted by dryness and eczema.

A lightweight antioxidant, that helps to soften and balance the skin.
Meadowfoam seed oil is known to work in a similar way to the sebum the skin produces naturally, which makes it particularly effective at sealing in moisture. It also helps to balance the skin's natural oil production, contributing to a more even complexion.
With a unique, velvety texture that is very emollient without being greasy.

Organic Moringa Oleifera
Known as the 'Miracle Tree', all parts of the fascinating Moringa Tree are used for their nutritive and medicinal properties.
Moringa oil is a lightweight oil that mimics your skin's natural sebum, so it won't clog pores or sit on top of the skin and make your face feel all greasy.
Moringa oil also has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties to heal sensitive skin. It can also be used as a moisturizer for sensitive skin with dryness. Just simply layer this lightweight oil under your makeup.

Rich in nutrients, it nourishes and helps to replenish the oils lost in our skin as we get older, it is considered an effective aid in combating early signs of aging. Opuntia Ficus-Indica
Prickly Pear Seed Oil is a nutrient-rich, fast-absorbing oil that is high in Linoleic Acid, which enhances skin elasticity and brightens the complexion.
Rich in Omega 6 & 9 with an abundance of Vitamins A, C and K, this precious pear oil helps to nourish skin whilst warding off signs of ageing in mature skin - not only visibly reduces early signs of aging, such as wrinkles or fine lines but also prevents them by working as a barrier and protecting the skin against the harmful effects of free radicals.
Additionally, easily absorbed into the skin, this rare oil is also a strong ally against dehydration, restoring both the skin and hair’s firmness and elasticity. Thus, although suitable for all skin types, it is especially recommended for mature skin.

Shea Butter (butyrospermum parkii) is a derivative from the nut of the African shea tree. This rich natural moisturiser is packed with vitamins and essential fatty acids. The antioxidant properties of vitamins A, C and E, help fight the negative effects of free radicals and may also be helpful in reducing inflammation.

Super creamy natural soy wax is derived from 100% pure soybeans that grow easily in many regions. Like all our ingredients, our Soy wax is not tested on Animals – it is also 100% Vegan.
It is a natural emollient, or moisturizer, so will leave your skin soft.

Sweet Almond Oil (prunus amygdalus dulcis) – contributes to a rich and conditioning lather in soap and helps to balance moisture loss from the skin. With its high concentration of Vitamin E it can also help combat early signs of aging.

Organic Almond milk helps rejuvenate and refresh the skin. Containing super moisturising qualities to hydrate the skin and produce a rich creamy soap, it is rich in antioxidants which help towards protecting from fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamins A & E stimulate skin cell generation.

Buttermilk is a luxurious choice for soap. High in lactic acid, buttermilk can gently exfoliate dead skin cells to brighten and soften skin. It also rids skin of impurities to result in a natural glow. Makes skin feel soft and smooth.

Organic Coconut milk is high in fatty acids and has the ability to moisturise the skin without clogging pores. It is rich in copper, and vitamin C which help prevent wrinkles, maintain elasticity and flexibility of skin. The lauric acid of coconut milk give our soap a luxurious, creamy and fluffy lather.

Goats milk is naturally rich in fatty acids, triglycerides, vitamins and minerals, goat’s milk soap comes with a long list of skin benefits. The essential fatty acids resemble our skin PH therefore get easily absorbed to nourish and protect skin while the triglycerides help skin remain supple and moisturised. The lactic acid contained in goat’s milk is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that helps dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells to penetrate the surface layer of the skin and provide tissues with nutrients to repair, nourish and hydrate skin from within. As such goats milk soap is highly recommended for dry, damaged or sensitive skin.
Goat milk is rich in both saturated and unsaturated fats, making it ideal for soap production. Saturated fats increase a soap’s lather — or production of bubbles — while unsaturated fats provide moisturizing and nourishing properties
Goat milk soap boasts high amounts of fats, particularly caprylic acid, allowing for gentle removal of dirt and debris without removing the skin’s natural fatty acids.

Organic Rice milk is an excellent source of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant compounds, which helps sooth the skin and can help slow down lines and wrinkles in the skin. Phytic acid in the rice milk aids exfoliation by helping to break down dead skin cells.

Egg Yolks used in our soap are from our own free range chickens. In cold process soap, egg yolks help to create an extra rich, creamy and luxurious lather.

The fragrant bases found in Aermeda products are derived from natural essences, distilled from plant matter - natures own perfumery. We create our own blends of high grade pure essential oils for our scented goat milk soaps.

Basil (Holy) Essential Oil (Ocimum tenuiflorum) – a beautiful fresh-dusky green scent with complex sweet and spicy layers. It is thought to enhances the lustre of dull looking skin. Used in a purposefully created essential oil blend in our hydrating Egg yolk soap.

Bergamot Essential Oil (citrus aurantium spp bergamia) is a light and refreshing top note of complex citrus. A gentle antiseptic and clarifying oil for the skin and an uplifting and energising oil for the mind. Used in an essential oil blend in our Indigo soap.

Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil (cedrus deodara) is a woody base note that has natural anti-septic properties, it tones and balances the skin and is said to have a positive and grounding effect on the mind. Used in an essential oil blend in our Wild Sea Kelp & Pumice soap.
